The SHREWD portfolio of real-time operational management tools facilitates operational excellence and efficiency across an entire region, enabling a tactical response to COVID-19.
Through the platform, SHREWD takes complex data from all system providers across health and social care, creating clear visibility of pressure and potential impact on demand and capacity. This enables teams to unite and take action with an integrated, cross-system response.
We worked with our NHS partners, across a number of STP’s, to build on the award-winning SHREWD Resilience module and develop the SHREWD COVID-19 crisis management tool.
SHREWD COVID-19, which can be implemented within 7 to 14 days, is a scalable solution that offers a strategic operational oversight of the whole health system, creating instant visibility of situational pressure and availability of resource across any geographical footprint.
Via a dedicated COVID-19 dial and heatmap, this crisis management tool displays a live view of key data sets including COVID-19 incidences, ED pressure, ICU capacity, bed capacity by oxygenation type, staffing and PPE stock levels.
Due to the changing nature of the pandemic, we can adapt at pace and make changes to these data sets, such as the inclusion of critical care home data or independent sector capacity.
In addition, we have also expanded the SHREWD Resilience module to respond to the current unprecedented pressure in planned care and we are currently in Phase 2 of a pilot programme to develop SHREWD Elective.
SHREWD Elective will capture complex, real-time capacity data from all system partners, including independent sector, and create a single version of the truth that identifies growing pressure for planned care by speciality and sub speciality.
This definitive view of a region or STP/ ICS will help load-balance across the whole economy, resolving planned care bottlenecks, delays and risks to patient safety and saving precious time.
